Mr. Kraus, founder of Mission BBQ, shared his life experiences, and his passion for service in the military. He discussed his days growing up in Wisconsin, during tight times, his work with Under Armour and turning down an offer to work for the Green Bay Packers. His ultimate destination, Mission BBQ allowed him to do something he thought important, give back to those who serve. Opened on Sept. 11, 2011, Mission gives to local fire and police charities, as well as military non-profits aimed at helping servicemen and women, like the Navy Seal Foundation, the Semper Fi Fund and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Each day at Mission BBQ the staff stops working, and the National Anthem is played. He calls this pause “food for the soul.”
